4th Grade

As I have been steadily watching the effects of Hurricane Florence, as I am sure many of you have, I am indeed grateful that the track of the storm did not stay on its original course as predicted earlier last week.  Otherwise, that would be our homes and communities in the midst of historical catastrophic peril.  However, I am saddened to see the devastation that our neighbors to the north are dealing with at this time.  May we be appreciative that our families, pets, and property have been spared, and seek ways to offer help and healing to those in North Carolina.  

We will resume school on Monday, and the children will need to bring the completed assignments on Monday.  The children will be taking the Spelling list 2 definitions test on Monday as we attempt to get everything back on track. If your child did not complete all the assignments, please send a note or message to offer an extension.

4th Grade:
September 11: 
Spelling: Do exercise 2B. Copy words and definitions for #6-10.
English: Write a list of 9 nouns (3 people, 3 places, 3 things)
Reading: Read "Returning to the Titanic" pages 80-81 
Social Studies: Read pages 46-47.

September 12:
Spelling: Do exercise 2C. Copy words and definitions for #11-15.
English: Make a list of 5 common nouns then a list of 5 proper nouns.  Example: man=common noun; Mr. Smith=proper noun.
Reading: Read "Finding the Titanic"  pages 82- 84.
Social Studies: Do sheet 16. 

September 13: 
Spelling: Do exercise 2D. 
Reading: Read "Finding the Titanic"  pages 85-87.
Social Studies: Read pages 48-49. Do sheet 17.
Math: lesson 16 # 2-20 Even numbered problems.

September 14: 
Study Spelling definitions.  We will have the assessment when we return. 
Reading: Read "Finding the Titanic" pages 88-90. 
Social Studies: Read pages 50-51. Do sheets 18-20.
Math: lesson 17 #7-22.

Reading: 20 minutes. "Grandfather's Journey" test is Wednesday.
English: WB 19-20. Remember to do the "Writing Application" on notebook paper. 
Spelling: List 2. Copy words and definitions on note cards for words 1-5. Test is Friday.
Math: l. 15 #2-30 EVEN. Test tomorrow.
SS. Sheet 15. Chapter 2 lesson 2 quiz Wednesday.
**Sell cookie dough. Orders are due Friday.
